Dear Book Clubbers,
Our last meeting to discuss The Orphan Train
at Carol’s was a huge success. The
book seemed uniformly enjoyed for a variety of reasons including the historical
knowledge it imparted, the writing style and the uplifting aspects of a
difficult situation. Ratings
ranged from 4.0 – 5.0, averaging out at 4.2. Carol did a great job of hostessing and of course the food
was yummy and plentiful. Jackie
led the discussion by simply letting all of us toss out things that we wanted
to explore with each other about the book. This just goes to show all of us that leading doesn’t have
to be a monumental endeavor.
Thanks to all for a great night.
Next up is Big Little Lies by Liane
Moriarty. The meeting is at 7 PM
on Wednesday, October 22nd at Donna’s house. Please let Donna know if you plan to attend. Tara and/or Jen are leading the discussion. Snack volunteers are:
Appetizers: Marilyn, Jen and
Marty
Desserts: Shirley and Sue K
Wine: Irene, Carol, Kathy, Jan and Jackie
Don’t forget that the October Beer and Cheese night
is coming up on October 18th.
Contact Donna for details.
Happy fall!
Jan
